Seems I took Red dog out this morning (and every other day!), he let me take this out for a drive this arvo (he knows he’s not allowed in this one). First time out since January 26. I forgot how much i love driving this car!

We took the White Knight out for a cruise today, not a great start with a flat tyre in Maitland thanks to a nail Put the spare on, came home, plugged the hole then went up to Dungog.
We weren’t aware of just how special this Charger was when we purchase her for a lady in 1998 It was her husband’s car and she thought it was a police car or something special. Also hinted that it may have featured in a magazine at some time.

Out in the light of day and nearly ready for the White Knight Special decals to be fitted. Thanks to Mark Dixon for your invaluable help with preparing the car (endless mscle building blocking) and then painting with gloss-off-the-gun Protec Paraglaze over Protec Multiprime.
Paraglaze Gloss is a premium two pack acrylic urethane single layer topcoat developed specifically to give solid and metallic colours the durability to withstand the harsh Australian conditions.
Paraglaze Multiprime is a two pack acrylic urethane primer specifically designed for application under Paraglaze Basecoat and Paraglaze Gloss.
The paints were provided by PPG Paint Powerhouse 26 Hudson Stree Hamilton, NSW, Australia, 2303 Tel: 02 4962 6572| Mobile: 0407 810670 where Warren Walters helped us in the process.
I chose that paint system because I wanted a good hard waring robust surface with no clear coat.
Interior is all done. Stripped to bare metal. New boot and plenum and rust taken out and sitting in primer. Underneath is all done in kbs. Just needs blocking and base coat and assembly.
Much to the annoyance of my wife, and without my children’s permission, I have spent some of their inheritance and bought myself something to keep myself busy when I eventually retire. The first picture is what she will look like when she is completed. The others is what she looks like now. She is a Valiant Charger White Knight Special. Only 200 made, 100 in white and 100 in red, 120 as auto and 80 as 4 speed manual…….and just to make this special, she is the very first one built 01/200. And my wife MIGHT be talking to me when I finish her

Well my journey into car restoration is about to commence. My project is packed and ready for transporting next week. Should have her mid to late next week and then the fun starts……..bring it on
March 20,2020
Day 1 of what I am sure will be the first of many. Car stripped and parts sorted. Current debate is whether to have car sandblasted back to bare metal for painting or just paint what’s needed and detail rest. Overall, very happy with what I have got.

Well a big weekend of working on the Charger. We spent Saturday scrubbing the roof lining and treating it and it now looks like new. Perfect job. Today I removed a diff on my own (with a little help) managed to remove the front end.
Next job will be to clean and check if diff is ok, replace rear brakes and lines and all the rubber joints and then paint it all black.
Very pleased with my work.

The White Knight is white again. Big long day of sanding and spraying after yesterday’s disappointments but it looks great after 3 coats of colour and 2 of clear. Still have to sand and buff but look at that gloss off the gun. Can’t wait to see it in the sun
August 6,2020
Put in a big day today. Had to do some surgery on the front after discovering that the nose was not put on correctly and wouldn’t allow the chrome to be attached. After 10 cuts and some bending of metal, we have the front looking respectable.
Then onto the last of the noise deadening on the floor. As usual, nothing goes to plan. It looks like the black that I got originally has now been superseded with silver….oh well. No one will notice, it will be under the carpet. And now I have excess so it looks like the boot will get done also.

Finally finished her……now for a drive.

Here is BULLETIN NO.93 that was distributed to dealers announcing the decision to release the limited edition “White Knight” Special Charger
BULLETIN NO. 93.
5th July, 1976
“WHITE KNIGHT” CHARGER SPECIAL
It has been decided to introduce anew and exciting limited edition Charger Marketing Special. This special will be known as the “White Knight” and will be identifiable by the sales option code of A50.
The public announcement has been planned for mid August. The actual package will be based off the Medium Line XL Charger with the following specifications and variations applied to create this new package.
EXTERIOR
There will be a choice of two exterior paint colours -Arctic White or Amarante Red.
A new and very individual exterior striping effect has been designed and incorporates the “Charger” name in separate block letters located between the wheel arches.
The front grille (except for the mesh which will remain grey), the front turn bezels, and the front and rear bumper bars are to be painted to body colour, with a special non-reflective matt finish applied to the bumper bars. To further identify this vehicle, a front air dam will be fitted. This also will be painted body colour, thus integrating the whole frontal appearance.
The black belt vinyl treatment and the sports fuel filter cap from the 770 Charger will also be fitted to these vehicles.
INTERIOR
The white seats have a red centre stripe feature line with red piping being used on the periphery of the seats. White vinyl will also be used on the headlining, sunvisors and rear shelf, whilst the door trims and floor carpets will be red.
MECHANICAL
The following options will become standard on the “White Knight” specials :
W36 – 6.00″ styled road wheels
T14 – 186 SR BSW radial tyres
D20 – 4 speed manual floor transmissions
E33 4.3 litre engine.
The only additional optional equipment available with the “white Knight” will be the C16 automatic floor console transmission which can be ordered in place of the 020 transmission if desired.
There will only be • limited number of these units produced, hence it will be in your own interest to make early enquiries and have one of these units on your showroom floor for the announcement date.
After the release at least one WKS spent the first 6 months of her life running around to dealerships showing everyone what a WKS was. Here it is, lovingly restored by Glenn Elms.
